Message for the month October 2007

People often ask the question “Why is God so far away?”. What we don't realize sometimes is that it is really us who are far away from God. Our schedules get ever more crowded, there are ever more things to distract us. Often we arrive home tired, with the pressures of the day still on our minds or with so many chores to be done that either we find no time for God or what little time we do find is second best to say the least.

Is this why the psalmist speaks often about “the morning” as being the best time to meet with Him? To start the day as we mean to go on, prepare ourselves to live the day ahead as God wants us to live it and most importantly to ensure that, before doing anything else, we ensure we give God some of our quality time.

James 4 v 8 tells us “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.”

It really is that simple!
