Message for the month November 2007

A common problem with people today is the concept of self-worth. Images of so-called perfect people thrown up by the media, comments by family and friends, all conspire to produce low self esteem and feelings of worthlessness. Remember, however that the value placed on something depends on the price that was paid for it. 1 Peter 1 v 18-19 says “ you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold ... but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.” God values us so highly that silver and gold were not valuable enough to purchase us back from our lives of sin, only the blood of His beloved and perfect son, a price He did not hesitate to pay for us.
