Message for the month January 2008

During the course of our Christian lives we regularly arrive at times when we need to make important decisions, whether in our personal lives, in our personal walk with God or, for some of us, in the running of our Church. Of course, the first port of call for most of us would be the Word of God, but what about those situations where the Bible doesn't appear to give direct guidance for our particular situation?
"The apostle James said "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him."
(James 1 v 5)
So when we are faced with a difficult situation which we are unsure how to handle, we just need to ask God for the wisdom we need to deal with it.
But notice the condition placed upon it:
"But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord;" (James 1 v 6-7)
So we must pray believing we shall receive it!
